In a move that is years too late, I’ve finally migrated from Typepad to WordPress. Many thanks to the Readymadweb team for making it happen. They offer a ‘turnkey’ Typepad to Wordpess migration package at a reasonable price. I put turnkey in quotes as they had to deal with some corner cases in my situation and did so with patience and professionalism. Give them a shout if you’d like to do the same.

I’m hoping to blog more after the switch, though am also looking at new platforms such as medium and rebelmouse. Regardless, it’s given me a new-found appreciation of the pain involved in switching content management systems.
